The XML Certification Academy is a unique and thorough training program that allows you to certify as IBM Certified Developer XML and Related Technologies. This internationally recognized certificate is proof of your technical knowledge and expertise regarding the development with XML. An IBM XML Certification is highly valued in the market. Companies make good use of the knowledge of Certified XML Developers for performing XML development projects. The exam itself is not part of the Academy but must be booked and purchased separately.

The XML Certification Academy consists of three modules that logically follow each other and train for the exam. The modules are followed based on an open schedule, which means that students from different companies will participate in the training. The purpose of the Academy is that you will increase your knowledge further after each module through self-study and by practical experience. After completion of the module, you may do so with the provided case studies that allow you to practice what you have learned. Before you do the actual exam you get the chance to test your knowledge by doing mock exams. After passing the exam you obtain the corresponding certification.
The XML Certification Academy is given six times a year and consists of a total of eight training days in 2 months. Every two months starts an Academy. In general, it is not advisable in view of the gravity of the substance to follow the modules in quick succession. Rather it is advised to gain practical experience after following a module first and then one or two months later enroll in the other modules and do the corresponding examination. A lead time of six months is not unusual, but with a high level of knowledge and learning ability you can also do it faster.
After successfully completing the XML Certification Academy you are able to set up data structures in XML, do transformations of XML data, perform XML data validation with XML Schema, format XML data for various output media with XSLT and transform XML to XML. During the course you will learn to work with XMLSpy.
After various modules you are supplied with exercises or a case to allow you to practice what is taught in a module. The cases relate to practical examples of XML development and are of a business nature. The solution of the exercises or the case is handed out to you in due time.
After the module prior to the exam for an XML certificate you get a test that allows you to prepare for the exam. The test is representative of the exam. On the basis of the test you will know if you have enough knowledge to pass the exam. You will be given 2 tests per exam.
At the end of the Academy you can take the IBM XML Certification Exam, IBM Test 141. A large part of the exam consists of multiple choice questions. After passing the examination you obtain the relevant certificate.
